CareeRising is a nascent career coaching startup in the Austin area with the goal of shaping meaningful and impactful careers for its clients. CareeRising specializes in careers in data but has services for all working professionals, college students, and high school students.
My internship focused on looking at career coaching from both the mentor (career coach) and mentee (customer) perspective to improve branding, address gaps in offerings, and identify target market segments.
The mentor perspective refers to the owner of CareeRising and other career coaches in the market; what services are others offering that CareeRising might want to offer as well?
Purpose: Analyze career blogs and other career coaching company sites to see what services are out there and address any gaps in CareeRising's offerings.
The mentee perspective refers to the students or customers of career coaching services; what services are they seeking and what satisfaction do they have with those services? How can CareeRising best use its past testimonials from mentees to drive future business?
Purpose: Map the market distribution of career coaching services being provided for Austin compared to the rest of the US, identifying any underserved market segments to be targeted.
